Thoughtful New Social Networking Site

Sunday, August 17th, 2008 | 51 views

Blogging is becoming a really serious business from the time that WordPress became a blogging cum CMS platform. So many social networking site have sprung up in the last eighteen months. The popular among them being Facebook, MySpace, Hi5.

I have stumbled upon a new kid on the block, known as Thoughts. What is so special about Thoughts when there are so many other social networking sites already flowing to the brim?

Well, for the last three days, I have been fiddling around with my membership at Thoughts. By the way, it is free to signup as a member. I find that it does have quite a bit of interesting features and functionalities that I did not find in any one social networking site. Thoughts has tried to converge lot of features which are otherwise available in several different social networking sites. Let me share with you some of the functionalities that I found quite interesting at Thoughts.

  1. Just like a news aggregator, you can add latest news pertaining to Politics, Sports, Business, Life, and Technology. This news can be sorted by Most Popular, Most Emailed, Most Viewed, Most Recommended and Most Bookmarked.
  2. You can create your personal blogs with multiple categories. This will help you to share your thoughts, feelings, technology tips, business relationships, recipes, or for 100 other reasons.
  3. You can post and share Photos, Videos and Podcasts at Thoughts.
  4. You may set up a Poll or a Survey, again, for different reasons and get feedback from your visitors.
  5. There is a dedicated Forum where you can interact with other like minded people.
  6. The profile and control settings are quite detailed. They have thought about everything.
  7. There are several themes that you may select for your page.
  8. The site itself has an excellent look & feel and is a very professional attempt to giving you what you want.

On the whole, I am very impressed with this social networking site. Even though this is a sponsored review, I really plan to use it more often.

Need an Article Review

Sunday, July 27th, 2008 | 610 views

People often say the power of the written word is unimaginable. That definitely holds true in the online world of e-commerce as well. Having an article bank on a website can drive in more business on a daily basis than a non-article based website.

More than likely you are aware of this fact. You are also aware that article writing takes time. Time you simply do not have in the course of a day. There are entirely too many other aspects of your virtual storefront that demand your attention.

Let the Need An Article website team of writers handle this task for you! For a nominal $9.95 fee per month, you have the resources and writing talents of the staff members at your disposal.

Your membership entitles you access to a private members only area where you can pick and chose what articles to feature on your website. That’s it! You provide additional information such as your URL’s and any other pertinent details you want included in the articles.

Then the team of writers gets to work. In many cases, you will be provided with the requested articles the same day a request is made. In the event you make a late in the day request, the articles will be provided on the next business day.

Once the article is received, simply add it to your website content. Then sit back and watch the traffic start to flow towards your site. It is a great way to advertise your website and drive traffic to it – all without lifting a finger or writing a single world on your own.

I have been using Need An Article service for more than a year now and I have never once been disappointed with their article quality or on-time delivery.

Brand New Text Link Exchange Service

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008 | 280 views

I have come across a new service in the blogosphere with a unique touch. This service, 23Blogs.com - FREE Blog Roll TEXT Link Exchange.(1:10), utilizes the Blog Roll for text link exchange and to cross-promote each other blog. A total of ten text links can be shown by the blog owner. 23Blogs.com will assign you with a HTML code that you need to paste in your blog.

This system works on the basis of amount of impressions and sharing of credits. Since this is a new service, you get several benefits from joining this service now. For example, you can straight away earn 1000 impressions when you sign up.

I feel this idea is good as it captures the method of linking which is already prevalent. Everybody uses blog rolls to link other blogs. So, this service can really boost the viral effect of linking.

I have a few suggestions to the creator of this service. The idea is definitely good but you also need to look at the packaging. For example, your website needs to be made more professional. I do not see a Contact Us or an About Us links. To boost sign ups, you may offer some downloadable gifts upon signup, like an ebook, etc.

This service is definitely promising and can become very viral. Best wishes to the creators of this site for their great idea.
