Avoid Common Affiliate Marketing Mistakes And Enjoy A Steady Income

Affiliate marketing is considered an easy way for affiliates and merchants to make money online automatically. However, not every affiliate marketing campaign is successful. Affiliates and merchants both need to do their best to avoid the following affiliate marketing mistakes.

Here are some of the common mistakes:

Affiliate Mistake #1 Assuming a customer will notice and click on your link.

Users need to feel compelled to click.  Advertising has become an integral and noticeable part of our daily lives.  This makes the job of any advertiser, not the least of which the affiliate marketer, an uphill climb.  The visitors are pop-ups, pop-unders, banner ads, sidebar ads and sponsored results.  Additionally, websites are chock full of hyperlinks – phone numbers have even become links on select handhelds.  This leaves users far less likely to click on hyperlinks without just cause.  Before you do anything, you need to take your customer’s needs and wants into consideration.  Once you’ve determined the why, then determine how you’ll convince them to click on your link, from graphics to enticing copy.  The more heavy lifting you do for the merchant, the more likely you’ll be to see commissions.

Affiliate Mistake #2 Assuming a link to the merchant will lead to a sale.  An enticing link and a great product description can not save you if what you are selling isn’t what the customer is looking for. Additionally, if you are offered higher placement in the commission network on a lousy product and far lower placement on a popular or sellable product, do not let greed cloud your judgment.

Affiliate Marketing Mistake 3: Failing to size up the competition.  What works in the marketing game is constantly changing.  Customers are evolving and so should our attempts be to attract them.

Affiliate Marketing Mistake 4: Viewing affiliate marketing as a get-rich-quick scheme.  Wealth is rarely if ever achieved without a major commitment of time, resources and effort. If you are not prepared to do your part, it’s best not to take the plunge at all.

Affiliate Marketers often use tools associated with Article Marketing because Unique Articles can drive massive amounts of visitors to the affiliates review websites.

Affiliate marketing indeed is a wonderful way to develop a very substantial income. And with some planning and elbow grease it doesn’t have to cost much to succeed.

The biggest hurdle for many seems to be developing a traffic generation plan. Maybe its not the development but the execution.

Persistance pays..

Thanks for the insights

The most important thing in affiliate marketing is to always strive to build backlinks to your site. This will drive your search engine rankings and bring you the traffic you need. Without the traffic you wont get the money.
