How I Get Traffic From Posting at Free Advertising Sites

Ok, so I feel a little silly using these free advertising forum sites. But the fact is, I have discovered that they really do bring in regular traffic and sometimes sales and clicks as well.

Some of these free ads sites get huge amounts of traffic, so if you make it a habit to post ads on a regular basis, your ads will get seen and you just might be pleasantly surprised at the results.

Other than writing killer ad copy, there are no big secrets to making it work, but here are a few little tricks I use to maxmize my results:

First of all, if the forum allows it, I always make a “mega-thread.” This just means that I make a thread with one of my ads in it, and then I keep coming back and replying to that same thread over and over again with the same ad or a similar one. This bumps it to the top of the forum. Not only that, it accumulates the most views and has the most replies as compared to the single ad threads, thus making it look really popular.

Another thing I do is always give my own threads a five-star rating which provides instant credibility.

And lastly, I also reply to popular threads that others have posted using my own ads and gaining even more exposure.

I find that the only thing that it takes to be successful when posting to free advertising forums, is to come up with good ad copy and the just keep attacking the forums, posting my ads again and again whenever time permits. There is automatic forum posting software that makes it breeze too. Otherwise it can be a little boring and tedious. Still, if you don’t like the idea of forum posting software, you can always use tabbed browsing and keep several tabs open with the various forums.

Another thing I do is mix in posting ads to free classifieds sites along with the forum sites. Some of these classifieds sites also have huge amounts of traffic, just like the forums. They might as well be looking at your advertisement.

There’s something else worth considering here as well. These forums and classifieds sites count for backlinks when it comes to search engine optimization. Of course these are not like links from the home page of some big authority site, but still, they do count as far the search engines go. The bigger ones seem to get spidered constantly. So using anchors with good keywords for your links can’t hurt a bit.

Though I haven’t tried this last idea yet myself, I really think it may work out well. If you were to find success with some of your ads, you could then map out a little system and outsource the whole thing. Not only would you dominate the free advertising sites, but you’d free up your precious time as well. There are tons of cheap virtual assistants and freelance people ready to do this kind work. Food for thought anyway.
