If you do not know what a blog is, then you must have been hiding out in a cave for the past few years. In the technologically advanced world that we live in today, it seems that the Internet is used for just about anything, and a blog is one of the most commonly happening things on the Internet.
What is it?
Blogs are nothing but web logs or journals noted in an online environment. They originated as personal blogs which were used by people to journalize events happening that are of interest to them.
To put it in a different way, basically a blog is a type of journal or newsletter that is featured on the Internet and which is frequently updated with the general intent to inform the general public about a particular topic. Blogs can be based on just about any topic, and they generally represent the personality of the particular author who is writing them.
A lot of people who have their own website, whether it is for personal or professional reasons, also include a blog on it, so that they can keep visitors to their site updated on what is going on and how things are going.
Most of us first heard about blogs from celebrities, as many celebrities like to keep their own blogs posted on their websites. They use these as a means of keeping in touch and contact with their fans, letting them know what is going on in their lives and what they are planning on doing in the future, and so on.
Ideas to Write on Your Blog
When it comes to the matter of coming up with ideas to write on your blog, this is really going to depend on what particular subject your blog is based around. Basically one of the best things that you can do is use the Internet as your main resource - surprise, surprise - and you can scrounge around on the Net for different ideas.
All you really have to do is find any search engine, such as Google or Yahoo, type in the phrase ‘ideas to write on your blog’, and you will instantly be presented with a variety of different options. You can also just use these as a starting point and then add your own creativity and flair to them.
Another great idea for writing on your blog is to have a group meeting. This means inviting some of your friends and family over and talking to them about your dilemma and seeing if any of them have any ideas to write on your blog that you could use.
You should do thorough brainstorming in these sessions and either yourself or somebody else, deputed by you, should take detailed notes on these deliberations.
You will be surprised what you can come up with when you have an array of different thoughts and ideas being poured out at you, and so this is definitely something that you would want to do if you are trying to come up with some great brainstorming.

I have noticed that you need to be extremely focused and keep to the subject of your blog when you write a new article.I have a blog about home business opportunities and marketing strategies and write only about things that are directly connected to this.You can write about what you like, it is just important to be focused.

Thanks for your suggestion and taking the time to comment. It is much appreciated.
I fully agree with you that, of late, I have been allowing submissions by guest authors and some of them have been off topic.
So, henceforth, I have to ensure that the topics submitted are only related to the subjects that I am dealing with.
