Forums are one of the best platforms to get cheap and quick publicity for your affiliate products and affiliate marketing efforts. Members of a Forum are, generally, like minded people, so getting their attention to promote your affiliate products is easier. Most of the forums have strict rules regarding posting and advertisements which need to be followed if you do not wish to be banned from a forum.

When you join a forum, never start the posting with a thread that contains an affiliate link. You will surely get banned.

Your first goal should be to build trust and increase credibility. To achieve that, make several forum posts regularly and keep alive a conversation on different useful and intelligent topics relevant to the forum. Initially, you need not even setup a signature file. Even if you have a signature file, do not have any affiliate links there. You may, possibly, point to a couple of most popular websites that you own.

You can start by finding a number of forums for your particular niche or marketing angle. You can find massive lists of forums at Big Boards, the largest forum directory on the internet

Now, once you have selected a number of forums that match your specific marketing angle and affiliate product, find out about any rules they may have regulating signature files.

For instance, some sites do not allow any links in signature files; some others, even though they may allow links, do not allow any commercial links. Make sure you know what the rules are before you post. Otherwise, you may be simply banned from the forum in no time.

As far as possible, select from the list of forums those that allow commercial links in the signature file. Start posting by creating new threads as well as participating in discussions on other’s threads.

The best forum that allows commercial links in your post is called Your Advertising Forum. This forum has lot of internet marketers and web publishers as their members. This is one of the best places to advertise your affiliate product links. Above all, it is free to join and post.

Post regularly, avoid meaningless fights and flaming, and contribute useful, on-target information to discussions. In a matter of 1-2 weeks, you will have developed a reputation, provided that the forum receives a considerable amount of traffic.

Once you have developed a good recognition as well as reputation, you should start advertising through your forum signature. Preferably, you should use some eye catching methods to attract attention to your signature without making it too gawdy and obvious sales pitch.

This will draw people’s attention. You will then want to link them to something other than an affiliate page - whether it be a page you created to sell an affiliate product, an auto responder course used to capture email addresses or a sqeeze page.

Try and target all the relevant high traffic forums that also allow commercial links in signature files and that meet with your specific audience and niche market targeting goals.

These measures will surely attract lot of attention to your posts as well as drive traffic to your affiliate links and website.
